STUDENTS' WRITING CONTEST ON MEDICINE
Dr. Cory Lessner, medical director of Millennium Laser Eye Centers and the team LASIK surgeon for the Dolphins, Marlins and Panthers has announced the centers' first essay writing contest for students.
The topic: "How medicine or healthcare in general has impacted my life."
The best essay writer will be awarded the top prize, a $2,020 scholarship to the college of their choice. The second-place winner receives a $750 scholarship, and the third-place winner receives a $500 scholarship.
Applicants are not required to pursue studies in the medical field.
All South Florida high school students are eligible to compete. They must complete an application and submit an essay of 150 to 500 words.
All essays must be sent via regular mail and postmarked no later than Jan. 31, and sent to: 2005 Essay Contest, Millennium Laser Eye Centers, 1601 Sawgrass Corporate Parkway, Suite 410, Sunrise, FL 33323.
